We try to get to know your child as quickly as possible and we always ask one of the children to be a best buddy and show each new child around so they can settle in quickly.  It really helps if you tell us of any issues when you begin.

At Grove Park Primary School we support pupils with English as an Additional Language. The School works in partnership with Hounslow Language Service (HLS), who provides support teaching staff, EAL and mother-tongue assessments, multilingual and multicultural resources for individual pupils' needs. Our main aim is to help bilingual pupils,who speak, read or write in English as an additional language, develop their skills in English and succeed in all school subjects.

At present 47% of pupils at Grove Park School from the Nursery Class to Year 6 have another language other than English spoken at home. This represents 27 different languages. These pupils with English as an Additional Language receive ongoing support in class. In addition there is small group work where pupils can extend their knowledge of English through language games, dual text work, role plays and commumication games.
